Being Laughed at is Okay

Let me start this off by stating that I’m okay with being different. I go a largely farmer-based school, so by wearing what I normally do, occasionally I get laughed at. I get called a hipster.

Now, I don’t think I’m a hipster, but people will think what they wanna think.

Imagine with me a little bit here. You’ve lived on the same farm your entire life. (17 years so far) You’ve had the same friends your entire life. They’re just like you.

Here comes this kid. He has loons (loons!) on his tailored button-up shirt. Black bowtie, black belt, black overcoat. White oxfords. He is possibly a bit taller than you, so you’re slightly intimidated. What’s the logical thing to do? Laugh! Laugh it up! Point at him! But as you’re doing this, he just laughs back. He has taken this ‘abuse’ for years now.

Bullying isn’t good. I know it can hurt. But brave through it.

Sometimes when certain people see something different, they automatically assume it’s bad. Maybe because you’re being laughed at is just because you’re different. Like me.

Addicted to bass, perfection, and caffeine. Somehow a hipster.
